A dream ensemble of seasoned musicians and rising talents, Simply Live by Tin Box's resident band forms the pulse of our live house.

Made up of seven vocalists and six musicians, our dynamic band delivers a wide range of genres, from classics to the latest Mandopop hits. Their collective experience includes creating original tunes like Tin Box Group's theme song (梦想的温度) and touring with A-list stars like A-mei, Stefanie Sun and Weibird.

VOCALISTS

Relyne Ban is a seasoned vocalist and an award-winning songwriter. Over the years, her co-written original songs have won many accolades – 手牵手 (Hand In Hand) clinched the Singapore NEA Eco Music Challenge in 2014. In addition, the song 柏拉图的浪漫 (Symphony of Love) snagged the Best Theme Song at the Singapore Asian Academy Awards 2018.

With an affable personality both off and on stage, Jayden is a seasoned, sought-after vocalist for live gigs and community events. He honed his singing skills as a resident vocalist at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) for several years. He also emerged as the Top 5 vocalist at the 2014 Project Superstar Singing Competition. A friendly and easy-going character, Jayden is a natural at building a great rapport with his audience.

Clinching the Top 4 position in the talent-search competition Campus SuperStar S2 (male category) kick-started Rao Zi Jie’s singing career. A multi-talented artiste, Zi Jie released his first single, Tick Tock, in 2019. Active in the local music scene, Zi Jie’s recent participation in SPOP WAVE! garnered rave reviews from his fans.

Characterised by his vocal prowess and emotive delivery, Justin is known for his charisma and ability to connect with audiences through his soul-stirring ballads and energetic, upbeat tunes. Throughout his decade-long music career, Justin has accumulated an impressive collection of accolades, most notably as the Top 2 male contestant in Project Superstar in 2014. Justin has also showcased his talent at noteworthy events including the pre-show of the 2013 Chingay Parade, the 2015 Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund, and contributed to the theme song for the 2009 Singapore Golden Melody Awards (新加坡金曲奖).

A talented singer with powerful vocals and a strong stage presence, Benita made her mark in the industry when she ranked in the Top 10 on Campus SuperStar (2009), the reality TV singing competition. Known for her extensive repertoire covering genres from pop and jazz to rock, and her ability to sing in seven languages and dialects, Benita has shared the stage with renowned artiste Della Ding (丁當) for local musical ‘Glass Anatomy: The Musical’ (搭錯車) at Esplanade Theatre and performed at the Singapore Indoor Stadium as the opening act for Singapore Youth’s Festival. She has also worked on productions like ‘Innamorati The Musical’ (唯 一) (2014) and ‘Titoudao’ (剃頭刀) (2015).

Cassandra, better known as Cass, is a seasoned professional vocalist with several years of experience. Well-loved for her upbeat disposition, she effortlessly spreads joy to those around her. Cass specializes in infusing Mandarin, English, Hokkien and Cantopop hits with emotion, conveying genuine feelings of happiness and positivity through her voice. Cass’ distinctive voice has garnered her opportunities to host and perform at Punggol Cove’s National Day Fiesta, Westgate’s “West The Sale 2023” event, and other live house venues. Not to mention, her ability to connect with her audience and uplift spirits through her music makes her a sought-after performer, leaving a lasting impact wherever she goes.

MUSICIANS

Jia Rong started playing professionally at the age of 21 and his versatility shines through his collaborations with young and veteran musicians in the pop and jazz scene. He has toured with the Queen of Mandopop, A-mei, and singer-songwriter Weibird. As a session drummer, Jia Rong has also played for notable artistes such as The Freshman, Joi Chua, Kit Chan, The Sam Willows and many more. Jia Rong is a proud international artiste for Sonor Drums, Agner drumsticks and audio specialist Beyerdynamic.

A seasoned bassist, Mah attributes his passion for bass frequencies to his exposure to subwoofers during his childhood. Mah has recorded and performed with various local acts such as Nathan Hartono, Gentle Bones, and The Sam Willows, among others. A mainstay bassist in several active bands, Mah boasts extensive stage experience. His innate musicality lets him deliver impactful and groove-driven bass lines that elevate his listeners’ overall music experience.

An experienced drummer, Glenn has established himself in the local Mandopop music scene through extensive live performances and residencies at numerous establishments like Timbre Group, and Tipsy Collective. Glenn has had the opportunity to showcase his drumming skills at various events and shows, like opening for American pop rock bands Mayday Parade and Before You Exit. Whether performing at TGIF Music Station or the Global Chinese Golden Chart Awards, Glenn has always strived to deliver his best.

A passionate guitarist, Andy has played various roles, including as a session musician, sound designer, and artistic producer, since he embarked on a music career in 2010. Over the decade, he has collaborated with a diverse range of local artistes, spanning different genres, languages, and practices. In the local pop scene, Andy has worked with esteemed artistes like Dick Lee, Shabir Sulthan, and Dru Chen, and original bands like NEODOM, Flame of the Forest, and MOTUS, covering genres ranging from 新谣 and Singapore folk tradition to Japanese, experimental, nu-jazz, and many more.

Music lover on a mission to craft and share emotive melodies through his guitar, Jimmy began his musical journey at the age of 14, evolving into a seasoned songwriter and guitarist. Inspired by Led Zeppelin, Guthrie Govan and Crowd Lu, Jimmy’s musical identity was shaped by their passion, sparking a lifelong love for music. Continually pushing boundaries, Jimmy blends diverse influences to create a unique, authentic sound that reflects his experiences and emotions. For him, music is a journey of self-discovery and connection. Jimmy has performed at prestigious events like Chingay and Baybeats, collaborating with local artistes and his band, Cirqa. He strives to tell stories that resonate, inviting listeners into his world.

A highly accomplished and versatile musician with a career spanning over two decades, Tony excels as a pianist, keyboardist, composer and arranger. He has graced both local and regional stages at renowned events, including the Mosaic Music Festival and Jazz by the Beach. As a musician, arranger, and composer, Tony’s versatility to seamlessly transition between genres and musical styles made him one of Singapore’s most sought-after pianists and keyboardists.

CURRYPOP

Inspired by a local Singaporean delight, the Curry Puff (also known endearingly to the locals as “Curry Pok”, CurryPop was born in 2016. An acoustic duo that comprises of Daniel Ong and Seow Ting, they aim to bring tasty and fresh music with a proud local flavour, much akin to their quirky band name.

SUNNYCAZ

Join Niesan & Caz, the acoustic duo – SunnyCaz, who will bring you unplugged covers in harmony. Caz first started out in local music cafes (民歌餐廳) as a singer-guitarist. The two recently formed an acoustic duo in 2021 through collaboration for charity and busking performances. Caz’s rich warm vocals complements Niesan’s sweet melodic voice. Niesan’s passion for music started at a young age through her love for classics that transcends time.

Effectively multilingual, Niesan has been sought after for demo-singing and wedding performances. In 2017, she entered the preliminaries of《The Voice 决战好声》and received accolades from all four judges. In 2021, Niesan released a debut single《1+1》ft. local songwriter Derrick Tham, which is available on Spotify and all music platforms.

JELENE, WARDY & JOLIN

Jelene is a versatile keyboardist who began playing music at age 4 and effortlessly switches between genres like pop, jazz, RnB, and blues. She was mentored by seasoned jazz musicians through Esplanade’s Bright Young Things programme in 2013 and has collaborated with international artists such as Barry Likumahuwa and Ezra Brown.

Malaysia-born Wardy Yap kicked off his singing and acting career in Singapore in 2013. With over a decade of experience in live performances, Wardy released his first single, ‘Undercover’ (臥底) in 2020, in collaboration with renowned local producer David Tan (陳達偉) and lyricist and composer Mark Shi (予希).

Jolin started her musical journey at age 3 with a love for singing, which grew into a professional career in the gig industry by the end of 2023. She competed in singing contests like the Sheng Siong 百倍百倍 and has performed at various events, captivating audiences with her emotional resonance and dynamic energy.

MUSIC HEART BAND

Brenda, Huiyi and Chloe are part of Music Heart Band, a homegrown acoustic band. Collectively, the talented trio comes with over 3 years of experience in live shows, singing contests and busking. Their wide repertoire ranges from evergreen classics to current Mandopop and English hits. They have collaborated with seasoned composers and producers like 郑同学 (Zheng Jianxing), Bear Lew and 冼佩瑾 (Celeste Syn), to produce originals like 《三年多》, 《慢慢》and 《问题是，戒不掉你》.

Thanks to their busking gigs, Music Heart Band is known for their engaging shows and warm chemistry with audiences from all walks of life.
